Creating fun and a little weirdness is honestly a Mytech value that I have always had a difficult time figuring out how to embrace. Most of my working life I had the mindset that professionalism and working hard were the cornerstone of career advancement. I guess when I really dig down to the core of the issue I have a difficult time reconciling that “professionalism” and “fun” don’t have to be mutually exclusive. But why is that?
What happened to the inner child in all of us that marveled at the world and the fun exciting adventures that lie beyond the walls of our house? Where dawning a red scrap of fabric around our necks instantly transformed us into the strongest kid on the planet that could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Having the care free attitude of just being a kid trying to figure out the world granted us the ability to charge forward without inhabitations, and having fun in the day to day activities was so much easier.
I applaud those of you that have found a way to create fun and weirdness in the everyday moments. What you have and offer the rest of us is truly a gift. There are definitely individuals at Mytech that are role models for this value. They have a way of embracing their inner child and not taking themselves too seriously. These are the people that can bring a smile to your face on even the toughest days.
So remember the famous words of the great comedian Groucho Marx “If you’re not having fun, you’re doing something wrong.” Make someone laugh today!
